Every year on my birthday, I do something a little different I turn myself into a wizard. I start with my own face and slowly build around it, changing shapes, adding shadows, playing with light, until it no longer feels like just me. It’s a mix of sketching, experimenting, and going with instinct, letting the artwork guide me instead of forcing it.
Somewhere in the process, the real me fades and something more mysterious takes over. The expression gets heavier, the energy around the character starts to feel alive, and it becomes less of a portrait and more of a version of me from another world. It’s my way of marking time by reimagining myself, not just as I am, but as something timeless.
